I am super excited to be a brand ambassador for Rebecca Page patterns! For my first sew, I made these adorable Posy Pleated Pants for E.
Oh my goodness, y’all. These are so flippin’ adorable. I cut the pattern pieces after dinner one night, and then stitched them up the next day.
The pattern was super straightforward and perfect for a beginner to intermediate sewist. I found it to be very easy to follow, and I was almost able to get it stitched up during nap time (but then the munchkin woke up and proceeded to sit on my feet and yell until I was done).
I messed up the waistband a few times, which was totally my fault. My first mistake was sewing the optional sash on the wrong way. I ended up removing it altogether. I also stitched the waistband on wrong and just kind of went with it. Again, my fault. I was trying to rush to finish it before my toddler completely lost her mind.
I did have to hem the bottoms quite a bit for my tiny girl. I used the 12/18 month pattern, but didn’t measure beforehand. Emerson is on the 12 month end of her size, so I just tried them on her and hemmed as needed.
The fabric I used is SO soft and light, perfect for this time of year in Georgia. E didn’t want to take them off. When I put them on her, she said, “ooh Mama!”
We went outside that evening to take some pictures, and E looked so cute running around in her pretty new pants. I can’t wait to sew a pair up for myself!
